Arroyo & Son Construction LLC is a family-owned general contracting company founded in Tualatin, Oregon in 1993. Owner Chris Arroyo has been working on job sites throughout the Portland metro area for over 30 years. We handle both residential and commercial projects — interior and exterior — serving homeowners and property owners throughout Washington County, Clackamas County, and SW Washington. We're not a franchise, not a large remodeling chain, and not a company that hands your project off to whoever is available. Chris is personally involved in every project we take on.

Yes — fully, in both states we operate in. We hold an Oregon CCB license (#236324) and a Washington contractor license (#ARROYSC752PP), and we carry comprehensive general liability insurance on every project. We've maintained clean license records in both Oregon and Washington for over 30 years. You can verify our Oregon CCB license directly at the Oregon Construction Contractors Board website at any time.

A few things. First, we handle both interior and exterior work — most contractors specialize in one or the other, which means homeowners end up managing multiple trades for projects that should have one point of contact. Second, we're genuinely local — based in Tualatin, working in the same neighborhoods we've been in for 30 years. We know the terrain, the soil conditions, the permit requirements in Washington County, Clackamas County, and Clark County WA. Third, we're straightforward — we tell you what a project actually needs, not what sounds best for a sale.
-
Yes. Arroyo & Son Construction has been family-owned since Chris Arroyo founded the company in Tualatin in 1993. The name means what it says — this is a family operation built on the belief that doing quality work and treating people honestly is the only way to build a business worth having. We're not managed by investors, not operated by a national franchise, and not growing faster than we can deliver quality work.
-
Yes, for every project that requires one. Permit requirements vary by project type, scope, and jurisdiction — Tualatin, Sherwood, Portland, Washington County, and Clark County WA each have their own thresholds. We handle the permit application process and make sure all work is completed to code and properly inspected. We'll tell you upfront whether your project requires a permit and what that process looks like before any work begins.
-
The first step is a free estimate. Call or text us at (503) 421-1128, or reach out through the contact form on this site, and we'll schedule a time to come out to your property. We'll walk the project with you, ask questions about your goals and timeline, and give you a clear picture of scope, approach, and investment before you commit to anything. No pressure, no obligation — just a straight conversation about what your project needs.
-
Timeline depends entirely on the type and scope of work. A fence installation or single-room flooring job might be completed in a day or two. A kitchen remodel can run two to six weeks depending on material lead times and scope. A full exterior project like siding replacement will vary based on the size of the home and weather conditions. We give you a realistic timeline estimate before work begins and communicate proactively if anything changes mid-project. We'd rather give you an honest timeline upfront than overpromise and underdeliver.
-
In most cases, yes. For interior projects like kitchen remodels, flooring installation, or cabinet work, we take measures to contain dust and debris, protect adjacent spaces, and maintain reasonable livability throughout the project. For larger scope projects we'll discuss the most practical approach during the estimate so you can plan accordingly. We've completed hundreds of interior projects in occupied Portland-area homes and are respectful of the fact that it's your home, not just a jobsite.

We serve the greater Portland metro area and SW Washington from our base in Tualatin, Oregon. Our primary service area includes Tualatin, Portland, Lake Oswego, Tigard, Beaverton, Sherwood, Wilsonville, West Linn, and Oregon City in Oregon — and Vancouver, Camas, Battle Ground, and Washougal in SW Washington. If you're within roughly 30 miles of Tualatin there's a good chance we've worked in your neighborhood. Call us if you're unsure whether we cover your area — we're happy to let you know directly.
-
Yes. We take small repair jobs as seriously as large remodels and don't have a minimum project size. Whether you have a single door that needs to be rehung, a section of fence that needs new posts, or a complete kitchen renovation, you'll get the same quality of work and the same communication throughout. Many of our long-term clients in the Tualatin and Portland area started with a small repair and came back when they were ready for something larger.
-
Yes. We handle both residential and light commercial contracting throughout the Portland metro area and SW Washington. Commercial project types include tenant improvements, office build-outs, property maintenance work, and exterior improvements for commercial properties. If you have a commercial project you'd like to discuss, give us a call and we can talk through whether it's a good fit for our scope.

Thirty years of work in the same market speaks for itself — but here's what we'd point to specifically. We're dual-licensed in Oregon and Washington, which is rare and matters if you're across the river. We handle interior and exterior work under one roof, which simplifies the process significantly for homeowners with multi-scope projects. We pull permits, build to code, and don't take shortcuts that come back as problems down the road. And we communicate — before, during, and after the project — because we've seen what happens when contractors don't and we've spent three decades building a reputation in this community that we're not willing to compromise.
